Desmond T. Burke (December 5, 1904 – April 11, 1973) was a Canadian marksman who is the youngest ever to win The King's Prize at the Bisley shooting competitions.[1]
Born in Ottawa, Ontario,[2], Burke attended Lisgar Collegiate Institute where he was a member of the school's cadet corps.[3] The year after graduating from high school, he won The King's Prize at the age of twenty, the youngest person to do so.[4] Burke would go on to win fourteen victories and eleven second-place finishes in his career. For these accomplishments, he was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1972.[2]
